Summer Enrichment Programs

On behalf of the RBHS PTO, we would like to thank Principal Pam Bylsma for organizing a wonderful presentation on “Finding Summer Enrichment Opportunities to Match Your Child’s Interest” at our March 10 PTO meeting. A lot of great information, including scholarship and grant opportunities, was provided. If you were unable to attend, the highlights are listed below:

Fresh off the press, the Summer Academic and Athletic Programs Catalog, was shared with the group. The program booklet is available at http://www.rbhs208.net/subsite/dist/news/2014/03/11/summer-academic-and-athletic-offerings-2014-3393

Rolando Martinez, M. Ed, Triton College Relations Associate, presented information on a variety of programs and scholarships available through Triton. Mr. Martinez shared information on a fantastic scholarship program; the Trustee Honors Scholarship program waives tuition and fees for fall and spring semesters for students enrolled in at least 12 credit hours per semester. To qualify for this scholarship, high school seniors who receive a 3.35 cumulative GPA on 4.0 scale at the end of their 7th semester; or receive a 25 or higher ACT score; or are in the top 10% of their graduating class qualify for this amazing scholarship. The deadline for submitting an application for Fall 2014 is the first week of April.

For application and additional information, please contact Program Coordinator, Dr. Michael Flaherty 708-456-0300, ext. 3250; michaelflaherty@triton.edu; Scholars Program website – http://www.triton.edu/scholars-program
