Please join us Tonight, Monday, November 4th, at 7 pm in room 201 at RBHS for our November PTO meeting.

This month’s agenda includes committee reports, news on upcoming events and an update from our principal, Hector Freytas.

We hope to see you there!

The Giving Tree is Back!

Today when you stop by the PTO table at Parent Teacher conferences you will see our Giving Tree which allows RBHS parents to designate their PTO donation to a specific PTO sponsored event of their choice.  For those of you that don’t have the time to stop, we are happy to let you know that we are once again taking it virtual.

The RBHS PTO sponsors some really fantastic programs here at RBHS but we can’t do it without your help. We are asking for your donations this holiday season to ensure we can continue running all of our programs. When donating, if one of these events is dear to your heart, please let us know that you want to put your donation toward that event.  It is a great way to ensure that your money works towards something important to you.

PTO Sponsored Events:

Prom Tickets – The PTO works with the administration to purchase prom tickets for students who could otherwise not afford to attend prom.

MLK Service Project – The PTO works with the RB NHS students to collect items and build basic survival kits for the homeless.

Day of Service – This PTO sponsored event unites hundreds of students, faculty, and parents in working in our community.  Last year we cut down invasive trees, planted new trees, spread sand at the volleyball court in North Riverside, and picked up hundreds of bags of garbage as we cleaned up parks, rivers, and neighborhoods.

Teacher and Staff Grants – The PTO provides funding for lots of different academic, leadership, and extracurricular events here at RBHS. So far this year we have funded requests for Suicide Prevention Week and Black History Month in addition to teacher requests for books and memberships to enhance their students curriculum.

To donate, please click on the Paypal link below.  You’ll be asked to enter your donation amount and you can also select which event you would like those funds applied toward.

Why Join the PTO? To support your student(s) and their teachers. With the money the PTO earns, primarily through memberships but also through fundraisers, we host family events such as Future Bulldog Night, Freshmen Family Welcome, Fall Open House and Senior Awards Night. We fill grant requests from the teachers and club sponsors as well as host Teacher Appreciation events.

This year already we have approved grant requests for funding of events such as Suicide Prevention week and Black History Month in addition to teacher requests for books and memberships to enhance their students curriculum. We hosted a back to school breakfast for the teachers and are planning the staff appreciation luncheon that will be held in February. With your support through membership and participation in our fundraisers, we will be able to do even more!

Please consider joining the PTO today.
